The Ferrari 355 Spider has been our most
popular recent addition to our fleet. We’ve added
a 1997 6-speed Spider to our Main Campus location in
Palatine, IL, and also a 1999 F1 Spider to our New York
location. It is the next design step following the success
of the Ferrari 348 Spider 5-speed and included a number
of improvements---especially the ultra smooth fully
evolved transmission available in the 355. In addition,
the convertible top has evolved to automatic.

Like the F348, the F355 is a mid-engined
V8-powered 2-seat coupe. One major difference between
the V8 in the 348 and that in the 355, apart from the
displacement increase from 3.4 to 3.5 L, is that the 355
features a 5-valve per cylinder head. The engine produces
an additional 80 horsepower and a redline that peaks at
8500 rpm. Also, the engine look has been revamped to have
a modern lamborghini layout and feel to it which is stunningly
displayed below its also redesigned engine cover.
Behind the engine cover are enzo-like
tail lights and newly rounded bumper curvatures. The
fin-like lines along the side of the 348 evolved to
a larger more open single air inlet on the 355. Improving
its intake functionality and carrying out the curves
of both bumpers, the new design of the side fins on
the 355 make this model Ferrari most recognizable of
its generation.
